Qualifying
Time Trial Procedure
During time trials we will not have any practice laps. Rooms will be set up for 5 lap races, the first lap will be a warm up and the time will be disregarded. The combined time from the last 4 laps will be your qualifying time. Once a run has been completed, the next person will start their qualifying run. Once they enter the track the race will be started.
Pole Day
There will be two time trial sessions on pole day. The first will determine either spots 4-8 if the bug is not fixed before this day, if the bug is fixed then positions 5-11 will be set in the first time trial. Session one will last 2.5 hours, and each driver may make up to three qualifying attempts.
After session one, the top (3 or 4) times will be erased and those cars will participate in a 45 minute time trial to determine the top 4 positions for the race. Qualifying order will be chosen in order of session 1 times, (third or fourth) will go in the last available spot. Once all 4 drivers have made one attempt, they will have the option for additional attempts in order. Example: Session 1 standings: a-1st, b-2nd, c-3rd, d-4th. A elects to go 3rd, b elects to go 1st, c elects to go 4th, d goes 2nd. Session 2: b makes a run, then d, then a, then c. B is then given the option to make another attempt and either does or the option goes to d… until 45 minutes have passed.
Bump Day
The final (3 or 4) positions will be available on bump day in a 3 hour time trial. After all positions are filled, bumping will begin and the only drivers that can make a qualifying attempt will be those who are not qualified. If a driver gets bumped they can then make additional qualifying attempts.
Race Day
Lobby
The lobby will be open around 2 PM US Central Time on Thursday May 24th; the room will be hosted by RCS_LeagueMSTR. The race will start at between 2:45 and 3:00, if any qualified drivers are not in the room by 2:45 then drivers who made a qualifying attempt but did not make the race will be sent invitations in order of their time. Replacements will be first come first serve, but again the faster drivers will be sent invitations first. Starting positions for replacements will be based on their qualifying times.
Race Start
The starting order will be set to reverse grid and we will run a 1 lap race under reduced pace to get our starting order, last place will go first… first will go last. This race will be a grid start, and you will go when instructed to do so. After this the room will be changed to a rolling start, and lap count will be changed to 200. We will then start the race; all cars should be on pit road at this time.
Cautions
When there is a two or more car crash there will be a one (full) lap caution, when caution is called all cars are to slow to 100 MPH. Lapped cars will be given a wave around and any car will be free to enter pit road. For the restart the leader determines the pace, the race is under green either when the leader takes off or reaches the start finish line. The leader does not need to say “green” or anything to that effect, however false starts will not be allowed. If a leader accelerates rapidly after the pit entrance the race is back under green flag, if they brake anybody is free to pass and the leader shall make no attempt to block passing cars.
If there are any questions, please ask.
