iracing.com has a promotion currently running where if you sign up for their 1 Month trial period for $12, you get 2 months free. Now would be a great time to sign up and check it out.
If anyone else wants to, I could be persuaded to sign up for it with them. Let me know

After trying iRacing, I just got a promotional offer to sign up for 2 years for the Price of one ($99). Does anyone think this is worth it? I am considering it... but I'm not sure what i want to do.

If you ask me you get what you pay for. You don't have to buy all of it at once. Plus there's all kinds of deals that they do all the time. I don't want oval tracks and I don't want NASCARs. Simply put you don't have to buy everything. If you just bought a car and track every month it wouldn't be that bad. Plus there's no way you could get fully use to a car in one month. Figure out what kind of racing you're into and start out with the most common cars in that category and pick the tracks that everyone's using. In a few months you'll have enough tracks and cars to start competing online. And I know you're thinking three months to start racing online. Well you need that much time to fully get use to tracks and the cars. If you're serious about racing online this is the only way to go. No other sim that I've come across is this organized when it comes to keeping up with stats and organized racing. The damage scale is so realistic. I can only imagine what iracing would be like if I had a very expensive wheel (not that there's anything wrong with the G27). I'm seriously considering keeping this. You have to ask yourself how dedicated are you truly to simulation racing online.

I still just cant get past how crap the web browser start thing is, i hate that. I hate games that have you do all the crap from the browser. 2nd i hate they nickle and dime you on everything, we can't play together unless we freaking pay for another server. It's insanely priced. Yes it's the best sim racing out there and has the best toughest guys. But it's seriously expensive to play. Also Cart's you don't have that great of a PC, you may have played and been ok on the few tracks you had. But who knows how it will be on the other tracks. That money could be spent toward your new PC for gaming. With the new AMD Trinity APU's coming out those will make for a amazing 400-500 dollar gaming PC right there. And im talking able to play BF3 at 30-40 FPS for that sorta money. Personally if you got the money go for it, do what Grand said and buy a car and track per month, it wont seem to bad. I'm still iffy on it all, with being wrecked constantly and the price's of things, being charged for every little thing opening up rooms to race together and shit. If it was cheaper overall, the cars weren't so expensive and the servers were cheaper to run or even being able to rent our own server that's up 24/7 then I'd be all over iRacing. ATM with how I am, i ain't. It's a very expensive thing to get into and should be carefully thought of before hand.
So overall, I'd say save your money and build your gaming PC first, after that then go buck wild with iRacing and all of that stuff.

$3 for four hours of server time absolutely insane pricing. I can't agree with you more on that fact. To be honest that's on the main things that makes me not want to re-up my subscription.

Mhm, if we were rich or our forum more popular i could see maybe with donation's being able to put up a server for RCS once a week or every other week. But to ask Cart's to pay his own money for it, on top of he already gives out prize's its just to much. We will see once im working maybe ill get into iRacing. I'll have the money to. But yes, that sorta money for it they are asking it just soooo much. And on the other hand, I'd rather save up and use it toward's moving to Japan instead.
